I had started playing in the way that many other energetic children started, by hitting other things in the home in place of drums. I had a metal food serving tray with Disney cartoons on it and when music played in our living room it would prompt me to hit the serving tray over and over to the beat. After the tray was demolished my father who was also a drummer, resolved that it would be a good idea to have a drum set in the home once again. By age 12 and with the help of a fantastic local drum teacher Wayne Brown (I owe him a lot), I had joined many bands. By high school, I was playing in small venues hoping they wouldn't check my ID. Years later I had continued in all varieties of music and I'm grateful to have toured in six different countries, played shows for the Canadian and US military and be featured on CBC radio.
