Shikhar Naad is the son and disciple of percussion master and composer Taufiq Qureshi. grandson of Tabla legend Ustad Allarakha and nephew of rhythm genius Ustad Zakir Hussain. He is a Drummer. Percussionist and music producer who carries forward his father's concept of translating the Tabla repertoire onto the African drum Djembe. Shikhar has been blessed to perform on stage with masters of Indian music like Vidhwan Vikku Vinayakram ji and Ustad Zakir Hussain. He has performed with other maestros such as Louis Banks, Ranjit Barot, Shankar Mahadevan. He regularly plays and works as a music and rhythm producer with leading Indian musicians like Niladri Kumar, Purbayan Chatterjee, Kaushiki Chakraborty,Vijay Prakash, Ravi Chary, Gayatri Asokan and has performed with international names such as George Brooks, McCoy Mrubata, Torsten de Winkel. He works as a music producer on several ad jingles, non-film albums and projects and as a session artist on several Bollywood movie soundtracks.

My Guru Ustad Taufiq Qureshi has always taught me that the instrument is alive. I feel this connection with my Mapex Storm Drum set ; to explore and learn. It gives me exactly what I hear in my mind in terms of sound and tone and I hope to do justice to it.
