Facundo Gonzalez, "El profe de batería" was born in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. From an early age, he began to feel attracted to music. In his home, there were several records of his parents that he enjoyed listening to, but it was his older brother who introduced him to the rock bands that marked him and made him realize that he didn't just want to consume music; he wanted to take it a step further and someday be part of a band playing one of the instruments. A few years later, Facundo and his family moved to a new neighbourhood where there was a boy who had a drum kit at home and was in a band. There, he had his first encounter with the instrument, feeling great curiosity for that set of drums and cymbals that could create music. Eventually, a few years later, he started taking lessons with a teacher. Facundo always remembers his first drum lesson as a pivotal moment in his life, as he felt a fascination he had never experienced before—a great desire to discover everything that the drums and music had to offer, while feeling immense happiness at discovering a new passion.

About a year into his lessons, his parents bought him his first drum kit. From that moment on, he spent a lot of time at home learning songs by ear from his favourite bands and began forming different bands with people from his city, performing live shows and recording some demos. During his high school years, he continued to learn drums as a self-taught musician, and after finishing school, he decided to study music at the National University of Rosario. Among the programs available, he surprisingly chose not to study drums but instead began studying music education and composition. This decision was made because he wanted to understand music comprehensively, rather than just focusing on rhythm. Thus, in the following years, he dedicated himself to studying piano and the great composers of classical music.

A few years later, a friend of Facundo asked him if he taught drums, as he wanted to learn. Facundo had never considered the idea of teaching, but at that time he was studying and thought it would be a good idea to start giving lessons to earn some extra money, so he said yes. This is how he began teaching drums in the rehearsal room they had with his band at that time in the city of Rosario, and over time, more students joined. Once he decided to make teaching drums his main job, he needed to think of ways to attract more students, leading to the idea of creating educational content about drums on social media so that people could get to know him. The idea was to make videos with short drum lessons, allowing people to see how he developed as a teacher, discussing and explaining different topics. The initial goal was solely to gain more in-person students in Rosario. However, as time passed, he realized that many people from other places in the country and around the world were watching and valuing his videos to learn drums, while Facundo found great joy in creating content about the things he loved on social media. He decided to invest much more time and energy into this, aiming to build a larger community of people wanting to learn drums. Today, his follower count reaches 100,000 across all his social media platforms, where he posts new videos daily under the name "El profe de batería" Since June 2024, Facundo has been living in Spain, in the city of Valencia, where he works as a teacher in person at “Estudios JR lasala,” the same place where he has his studio and also records his videos.
