Sal Giancarelli entered the world of touring in October of 1999 as the drum tech for Staind. In 2011 he became the drummer for Staind, and has maintained that seat ever since. In 2017 he was also asked to join the rock band Saint Asonia.

Born and raised in Central New York State, from the 5th grade on it was just drums and music, all day, everyday. Through all of middle school and high school, he participated in many musical events: wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, all-county and area-all-state wind and jazz ensembles, musical pit bands, marching bands, private lessons, as well as jammin and forming original, and cover bands with so many of his musical friends. All the while, working on the family farm every summer to raise money to purchase and maintain his gear.

Currently Sal is gearing up for shows with Staind.
