With a career spanning over two decades, Piper’s passion for drumming has led him to incredible heights. As an Emmy-nominated drummer, an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Preparatory Institute, and the founder of Passionate Drumming & Music Lessons, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to both performance and education. His expertise spans multiple genres, including Rock, Jazz, Gospel, Latin, Classical, and more, making him a versatile force behind the kit.

Piper has performed for two U.S. Presidents and Vice Presidents and collaborated with a remarkable lineup of artists, including Grammy and Stellar Award winners such as Richard Smallwood, Tamela Mann, Marvin Sapp, and Dorinda Clark Cole. He has also contributed his talents to Broadway musicals, orchestras, and national television productions. His band, "Onyx," performs over 50 shows a year, further showcasing his dynamic musicianship.

In addition to his impressive performance career, Piper is a dedicated educator, serving as a teaching artist for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Orchkids program and leading percussion instruction at the University of Maryland Baltimore County dance department. He is also an active member of the Percussive Arts Society Drum Set Committee, further solidifying his influence within the drumming community.
