Drummer Jonathan “B.A.M.” Holmes Joins Mapex Drums Artist Roster

MOUNT JULIET, TN, September 4, 2025...Mapex Drums welcomes Jonathan “B.A.M.” Holmes to its roster of world-class drummers. Based in Nashville, Holmes is best known as the powerhouse drummer for the celebrated duo The War and Treaty, bringing his dynamic performance and precision to stages around the world.

A Chicago native, Holmes began playing drums at the age of three and grew up honing his skills in church services and drumlines, developing a deep foundation in gospel, funk, and groove. He went on to study music at Fisk University before fully immersing himself in Nashville’s vibrant music scene—performing everywhere from Broadway honky-tonks and wedding stages to major corporate events and recording sessions.

Since 2020, Holmes has been the live and recording drummer for The War and Treaty, performing internationally and making national television appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Good Morning America. His style spans gospel, funk, R&B, hip hop, jazz, blues, rock, reggae, country, and pop, a versatility that makes him a standout among today’s top drummers.

Holmes is excited to bring his energy and musicality to Mapex, “I love the attention to detail between woods and lacquers: the way it affects the sustain and punch were things I hadn't even considered. Also, the Black Panther series snares are innovative while paying homage to classic snare tones.”
