William "Speedy" Truss, Jr began playing drums at the age of 2 without any formal lessons or teachings. Speedy plays a wide-range of genres including Gospel, Jazz, Blues, R&B, Reggae, Fusion, Motown, Pop and Amharic. He has performed nationally and internationally with various artists at events ranging from the Capital Jazz Fest, NAMM Show, BET Bobby Jones Gospel, Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA), Black Caucus Conventions and the Smooth Capital Jazz SuperCruise, just to name a few. Speedy has recorded on numerous projects, and is currently working with 4 bands, a Musical Director of a 10 piece agency band and is currently seeking to expand his musical knowledge and background by taking Piano Performance Fundamentals & Theory Application. Speedy believes and lives by the quote "PRIOR PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE!!!!"
