The first time I ever played a Mapex Saturn kit, I knew I'd never play anything quite like that again. Then I got my hands on a Mars Kit a few years later and fell in love with that too. It was a no brainer for me after that. The versatility, warmth and definition from the shells and the durability and finish of the hardware is everything I want from a kit. It really doesn't hurt that the finishes are gorgeous too. Mapex gives me everything I want sonically and aesthetically from my instrument.
