Phillip’s musical journey began at age 11, when he first picked up the drums. Immersed in his high school marching and jazz bands, he quickly developed his skills before joining a DCI drum corps, refining his craft at the highest level of percussion performance. By 18, Phillip was already playing live gigs, and in his early 20s, he began performing regionally.
In 2008, Phillip started playing in Nashville, a city known for its musical legacy, where he would soon make his mark. In 2010, he joined country artist Shawna Russell’s band, sharing the stage with iconic acts such as The Judds, George Jones, Willie Nelson, B.B. King, and Cheap Trick and many more.
In 2015, Phillip became a member of Johnny Lee’s famous Urban Cowboy Band, where he’s had the privilege of performing at historic venues and large festivals all over the U.S. During this time, he’s also shared the stage with other legendary country artists like Wade Hayes, T.G. Sheppard, Johnny Rodriguez, and Mark Wills.
A passionate educator, Phillip also spent six years teaching drumline at a local high school, coaching students in both indoor and outdoor competition. When he’s not on the road, Phillip enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, hitting the lake, and working on anything with a motor.
With a career that spans decades, Phillip continues to bring his energy, expertise, and love for drumming to every project, collaboration, and stage he graces.
