Born in 1988 near Munich, Germany, Manu Lotter started playing drums at the age of 2. Only 4 years later he began taking lessons at the local music school and played marching drums for several years in his home town.
Besides live and recording he teaches his students and works closely with German Drummer's Focus legend Cloy Peteresen. He studied with Cloy Petersen and drummers like Alex Holzwarth (Ex-Rhapsody Of Fire), Thomas Lang, Rainer Huber and many more.
From 2007 to 2014 he played for the band Farewell To Arms and already toured through Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
2013 he started the so called The Bellerophon Project which gained a lot of attention on Youtube and led him to his first UK tour. 2014 Farewell To Arms split up and he started to work as a freelance drummer for touring, recording and drum lessons.
From 2014 until late 2016 he played for Emil Bulls, did several tours through Europe and spent most of his summer time playing festival shows. In the last couple of years he also played clinics at the Musikmesse Frankfurt, Zildjian Day, Extreme Drummers Universe Festival and was the face for Zildjian's S Family cymbals promotion campaign.
Since 2017 he's officially the new permanent drummer for Rhapsody Of Fire and tours internationally. Besides his work with ROF, Manu Lotter also does sessions, studio recordings and gives drum lessons in his basement.
I play Mapex because of their unique and stunning sound, the drums are easy to tune and the hardware is not only well thought but also very durable on tour.
