Kevin Kenney is a dynamic performer, clinician, arranger, and educator based in the Atlanta area. He serves as the Assistant Band Director and Percussion Director at Milton High School in Milton, GA, and leads as the Front Ensemble Arranger for the Atlanta Quest Independent World Percussion Ensemble and the Q2 Independent Open Percussion ensemble.
With a master’s degree in Percussion Performance from Texas Christian University and a bachelor's in music education from Jacksonville State University, Kevin's expertise spans a variety of roles. At TCU, he taught numerous ensembles like the marching band, PASIC Indoor Drumline, percussion ensembles, and steel bands. He’s been a featured performer at the Percussion Arts Society International Convention in events like the Marimba Competition and Showcase Concerts and has graced international stages as a soloist, a member of the Kenney Percussion Duo, and with the TCU Symphony Orchestra. His private studies include guidance from Dr. Brian West, Dr. Richard Gipson, Mr. Clint Gillespie, Dr. Tony McCutchen, and Dr. Todd Mueller.
Kevin’s marching credentials are equally impressive. He has performed with The Cavaliers, Spirit of JSU, Memphis Sound, and Music City Mystique. He has served as the front ensemble coordinator for The Cadets and is currently on staff at The Cavaliers. He’s also taught and arranged for numerous WGI, BOA, and PASIC indoor groups across the country. Kevin endorses Mapex and Majestic Percussion, Innovative Percussion, Sabian Cymbals, and REMO drumheads. He lives in Atlanta with his talented wife Claire and their son Cooper.
