"I choose to play Mapex drums because they look and sound fantastic! I'm a huge fan of the Falcon Series hardware, too. In my opinion, Mapex is massively underrated and competes with the best on the market."

Eduardo Torres is a Mexican-American drummer based in Austin, TX.

Born in San Jose, California to a family of blue-collar musicians, he took an early interest in the family business and was already drumming by age five. He showed such promise from such a young age that he landed his first paying gig by age twelve, and has been playing professionally ever since.

Some career highlights have included recording sessions with revered producers such as John Congleton and Stuart Sikes, as well as joining the tours of esteemed and grammy-nominated artists including singer-songwriter, Greg Camp (of Smash Mouth), Nikki Lane, and William Beckmann.

He moved to Austin, Texas in 2012 to join the band of blues-rocker Black Joe Lewis, consequently touring the US and Canada and appearing as musical guest on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’.

In 2015, Eduardo accepted the drum chair of 5-time Grammy- and Latin Grammy-winning Tejano band “La Mafia”, even acquiring his own Latin Grammy with the group in 2020. Also, in 2021, he was honored with the opportunity to substitute for his drum hero Rene Martinez for a few live shows with venerated Norteño group “Intocable”, making his official mark in the Texas Latin-Music scene.

When not on the road, Eduardo loves to track on friends’ recordings from home, and enjoys the rare but appreciated long leisurely afternoons with his wife and three dogs.
