Domenico has been playing drums since he was 7 years old. He had his first formal lessons when he was 13. He studied at the Academy of Contemporary Music, at the Jazz School in Zurich, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and Hochschule der Künste Switzerland. In the duration of his music career, he has performed more than 2000 gigs with countless bands and has had numerous studio jobs. He has played in genres from pop and rock to blues, funk and country music. He worked with two German trade journals “drums & percussion” and "Drumheads" as a workshop author, wrote four teaching aids with the title “Yin Yang Power Drummer”. The method focuses on the development of multiple independence. This is coupled with the most modern insights of teaching psychology, connecting the new with the familiar. The method is based on a matrix principle and combines technical and musical skill together in a way that virtually all areas can be trained simultaneously. He has also published "Quintessence - The Drummers Complete Guide to Quintuplets" with Alfred Music Publishing, giving drummers a tool with which they can learn the quintuplet feel from the beginning. He explains step by step how to learn the quintuplet feel and then integrate it into your drumming skills. The goal is, to be able to play the quintuplet grooves and fills as naturally the binary and ternary feel and incorporate them into your drumming skills. Domenico has been playing Mapex Drums since September 2001.
