Max Hofmann – one of the busiest up and coming drummers from Germany, grew up in the southwest of the country. Whilst still at school, Max became a junior student of Jazz Drums at the University of Music Saarbrücken. At the same time he took private lessons from Claus Hessler, who later became his mentor and major influence during his further studies with him at BfSM (College of Music) Dinkelsbühl. Following his graduation he participated in the renowned Popkurs in Hamburg. At just 23 years old, he has already toured Germany, Europe and China being one of the most stilisticly versatile drummers. Dom Famularo once said: „Max is definitely the next generation of great drummers!“ Currently living in Mannheim, Germany, Max continues his studies at the prestigious Popakademie with teachers such as Anika Nilles and Jost Nickel. He runs his own fusion band and works as a sideman for a number of well known german pop-acts, as well as different jazz- and worldmusic projects.
