Jeff Towers
Jeff Towers
Sessions, Clinician

By 18 Jeff was playing in several local Calgary bar bands and learning the ins and outs of being a working musician as well as finding his sound. In 1997 he started writing and recording with Calgary based Rap Metal band, Hiatus. Learning the ways of life on the road taught many lessons that would help him establish a career in selling the very tools of his passion and creating many Music Industry connections while managing the Drum Department at Axe Music. In 2008 Jeff joined the Mapex team when he signed his first Artist Endorsement - A company and product line that he holds dear and wholeheartedly believes in. The Mapex Saturn line was the perfect match to his band at the time, Calgary based Alternative band, Stonehocker and by 2009 Bad Habits Die Hard was formed, bringing with it a more Punk Rock edge to the Calgary scene. In 2014 Jeff started exploring a more Country & Roots sound, playing with Son Of Ray, which included a live taped performance with Stampede City Sessions as well playing with well-loved touring Indie Folk Rock band, The Frontiers, logging 200+ show dates in 2017-2018 alone! These experiences led Jeff to develop a new style of playing using only a Snare Drum and Brushes. This style born on the road, which he calls Single Drum Theory, also developed into a Clinic Series featured all over Canada as well as generating interest with fellow Mapex Artist and Clinician Dom Famularo, landing him a spot on the Artist Interview Series out of the US.
