Dennis Ekdahl was born in Stockholm, Sweden 1980. At the age of five he received his first snare drum and a cymbal. In 1994 he discovered Death Metal and sustained a keen interest in that style of drumming. Before that he tried his ways in Jazz/Samba/Funk, something that made him a very openminded drummer right from the start. During this period he played in the band MOURNFUL, which sadly disbanded after the second demo tape. He practiced 5 hours a day for at least 3 years and felt that he needed a band that shared the same ambition. Through a friend he got in contact with IN COLD BLOOD, that shortly after changed their name to RAISE HELL. A contract with major Metal label NUCLEAR BLAST was signed in 1997, and now things started to happen. They toured all over Europe and had albums out which was Dennis' dream since the early days.You can hear him on 12 different albums with the bands such as SINS OF OMISSION, RAISE HELL, MYSTIC PROPHECY, SIEBENBORGEN, RUTTHNA and now also THYRFING, where Dennis have been the drummer since 2011 and where he feels at home. Dennis' motto is "HIT HARD", and is proud of now being a MAPEX artist!
