Arun Kumar over the past 25 years has carved a niche for himself in the world of percussion as one of the few drummers in the world who does inter-disciplinary music. Adapting his style of playing drums for Karnatic Classical, Hindustani Classical, Film orchestrations, Jugalbandi, Jazz music and Dance art forms with ease, he has been inspiring many percussionists worldwide. He has worked in the recording industry with legendary music directors and artists and added special dimension to the compositions. Besides being a highly accomplished drummer, he also is a dynamic Morching artist with unique abilities that has fetched him ‘A’ grade from All India Radio. He also guides many aspiring drummers and percussionists at “Babu School of Rhythms”, the school dedicated to drums started by his father and Guru Sri. Babu Sukumar.
In recognition of his outstanding abilities as a drummer and percussion artist of great repute, many organizations have honored Arun with many awards and accolades.
