Artist Bio:

Ben Cantrell has been a performer, educator, adjudicator, and clinician in the Appalachian region for over 15 years.  He has performed with numerous ensembles across the country, as well as in multi-city tours in Spain and China.  Some of his more notable performances have been for the VA/DC Day of Percussion and Jazz Educator Network Conference.  Recently, he has performed for Barter Theatre (Abingdon, VA), the Sacred Winds ensemble (Pikeville, KY), and the Johnson City Orchestra (Johnson City, TN)

Currently, Mr. Cantrell is pursuing a DMA at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.  He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Morehead State University and a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from Radford University.

Mr. Cantrell is proud to be an educational artist for Mapex/Majestic Percussion & Innovative Percussion.  He is on the educator networks for Black Swamp Percussion & Evans Drumheads, and is a member of the Percussive Arts Society.
