Yusuf CERKEZ was born on November 16th,1971 in LIMASOL. Yusuf Çerkez has been working as a professional drummer for the last 30+ years. He is the lead drummer of the International Nicosia Municipality Orchestra in North Cyprus since 2000. He has been teaching drums at Yamaha Music School in Nicosia for the last 7 years since it was first established. He has worked with some world famous musicians such as Prof. Rex Richardson, Wycliffe Gordon, Michael Brown, Chris Byars, Tony Johnes, Okan Ersan, Oytun Ersan as well as highly popular Turkish musicians in Turkey such as Cem Karaca, Yıldız TILBE, Buray HOSSÖZ, Murat Gögebakan, Haluk Levent, Burcu Günes, Rafet El Roman, Burak Kut, Demet Akalin, Asim Can Gunduz, Altay, Ali Guven, Metin Senturk and Baha. Yusuf Çerkez is an Official Artist Endorser for some high profile companies such as Istanbul Agop Cymbals and Cympad International. Çerkez actively participates in various workshops where his gear gets regular mention and also supports the promotion of his endorsing companies on social media. Yusuf Çerkez was the backbone of Oytun Ersan Project, an International Jazz Fusion Band. Yusuf Çerkez is the drummer of Rock Band ‘Rast’, the most popular Rock Band in North Cyprus. They have regular gigs four times a week, 16 times a month and they also perform at national as well as international festivals in Cyprus. The band is followed by thousands of local Rock lovers.
