Mike Peters is a Canadian Born drummer best know as the drummer for Toronto Punk-Metal outfit Cancer Bats Cancer Bats have released 6 full length studio albums, and as many 7” inches. Most recently they released 2 acoustic eps that were recorded and released during the pandemic while the band was unable to be together in the same room due to travel restrictions within Canada. Cancer Bats have been a non stop touring machine since the release of their first album “Birthing the Giant” in 2006 Averaging 200 shows a year all over the world. Cancer Bats recently finished recording their 7th studio album at Private Ear studio with producer John Paul Peters. The band is planning for an April 2022 release through its own label “Bat Skull Records” Mike has always loved big loud drums. Growing up in the punk and DIY scene Mike played a lot of shows in bad sounding community centre gymnasiums or other unconventional venues. This forced Mike to play heavy and hard, making sure that every note he played cut through and was heard by the whole audience. This ferocity in playing, and his quest to play loud thundering drums has stayed with Mike as his drumming has evolved and the stages and sound systems have gotten bigger and better.
