Edward Freytag holds a B.S. in Music ED from the Univ. of TN Chattanooga and a M.M. in Jazz Percussion Performance from the Univ. of TN Knoxville where he studied with Jerry Coker and Keith Brown. He was Director of Bands at Cleveland HS and LaVergne HS in TN and is now Assoc. Director at Eagleville HS and Whitworth MS. He has taught at Lee Univ., Cumberland Univ., and Univ. of TN Chattanooga. He has performed with the Chattanooga and Knoxville Symphonies and served as percussion caption head for DCA Corps, Music City Legend. He is an adjudicator and clinician in both the jazz and perc areas.

He has performed with artists such as Liberace, Benny Goodman, Dizzy Gillespie, Randy Brecker, Eliane Elias, Steve Allen, Terry Gibbs, Bill Watrous, Jerry Coker, Donald Brown, Bud Brisbois, Dude Mowery, Marilyn Martin, Philip Claypool, Mindy McCready, Dr. Hook, Carl Perkins, and the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Mr. Freytag is a staff writer for RowLoff Productions Publications and has written such iconic texts as "The Rudimental Cookbook", "Just Desserts", "Multiplicity", and "The Orchemental Snare Collection" along with many ensembles and solos. He is currently an endorser for KHS America, Mapex Drums, Majestic Percussion, RowLoff Productions, Innovative Percussion, Sabian Cymbals, Evans Drum Heads, and Humes & Berg Cases and Bags.
