Matheus Marques “Profeta” is a Brazilian drummer and percussionist. Always surrounded by Brazilian regional and Afro Cuban music, he focused his studies manly to the understanding of the rhythms and melodies from Brazil’s musical roots, and dedicates his career to the research of the adaptations from Afro-indigenous Brazilian rhythms to the drums. To increase his research, in 2013 he graduated in Classical Percussion at FAC-FITO Villa Lobos. Recently worked with several artists such as Fafá de Belém, João Donato, Maestro Branco, Duo Siqueira Lima, Aquilo Del Nisso, Cacá Malaquias, Laura Lavieri, Gibão Alaká, Zitkani (UA). Has given several workshops and master classes in Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
