"When Golden Empire took the field in Drum Corps International competition for the first time, it was with a full set of Jupiter marching brass. The ability to put a quality instrument in the hand of every student at a cost that was within our modest budget was the reason we chose Jupiter initially, but the support from the KHS team and our local retailer after that purchase was why we eventually invested in Mapex battery percussion, Majestic concert percussion, and recently updated our brass to include XO instruments."
Banded Story:
Golden Empire is "banded" by an appreciation of the "Journey". The corps was founded to give youth the opportunity to learn and grow as a touring drum corps. Each year, these students band together with their instructors and support staff on their own unique journey with Golden Empire. Whether it's a weekend camp, the entire summer tour, or the larger journey of life, the significance of eventually "Goin' Home" is a value shared by the corps every time they circle up to perform the corps song.
