Carlin White’s humble beginnings as a drummer were molded in church under the masterful leadership of his father, Jeffrey White, Jay White and Cory Henry. This native from Brooklyn, New York longed to become a professional basketball or football player. This trajectory took an unexpected turn when he thought he was temporarily filling in as a band member at his father’s ministry. The moment the sticks hit the drum, he knew that was all he wanted to do. Carlin would evolve into one of the most highly respected drummers in the industry known for handling each assignment with passion, precision, and professionalism. Carlin is equally and respectfully known for his dexterous ability to harmoniously flow with the nuances of each artist. These attributes have allowed him to become J.Cole’s drummer since 2012 . Within these years he has toured and grace the stages of Jimmy Kimmel, The Ellen Show, Jay Leno, David Letterman in performances with major artists like John Legend, Mac Miller, Kanye West, Lil Nas X, Leona Lewis, Marsha Ambrosius and Conor Maynard. For 16 years, Carlin White has pulsated sanctuaries, stadiums, and stages with the reverberation of his indelible drum sound.

While Carlin remains a touring drummer, he’s evolving into a career of music production. Getting his first credits as a producer and drummer on the song “Fade Away” by Lucky Daye. This song was featured on the film “The Photograph”.

Music is Carlin’s vibration. He has hopes of ultimately building an environment for artist to peacefully create and cultivate their craft.

“People ask me how I make music. I tell them I just step into it. It’s like stepping into a river and joining the flow. Every moment in the river has its song.” ― Michael Jackson
