Artist Bio:

Cheng Sun was born in Feb 7 1985. He grew up as a typical urban child in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan and started learning drums at the age of 15, which introduced music into his life. After couple years of training, he was recruited by Dizzy Jazz Orchestra, known as the first jazz big band formed in Taiwan. During his time with DJO, he participated in several concerts and music festivals with the band. In the mean time, he had the opportunity to receive instruction from the members from The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. In 2008, he joined a jazz music seminarsheld by U.O.L.. 2010, He won a Grand Jury Prize in Japanese Drummer Contest held in Taipei. 2012, he won the first place in Mapex Drummer Of Tomorrow regional contest in Taiwan, before representing Taiwan in the International Drummer Of Tomorrow Global Finals held at Frankfurt MESSE that same year. Today, as brand representative of MAPEX in Asia, Cheng Sun and his band have three albums to their name in addition to numerous performances on a world tour with a well-known Taiwaness artist. He is a concert performer, studio musician, record producer, music director, and has always dedicate himself to his music life actively, and strives to develop more passion for music.
